Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) is proud to celebrate science teacher Joshua Weeks for being named the 2023 Adjunct Instructor of the Year by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at Harford Community College (HCC). This prestigious award recognizes outstanding part-time instructors who demonstrate exceptional teaching quality and a strong commitment to student mentorship.
Mr. Weeks, also a 2023 Harford County Public Schools Teacher of the Year Top 5 Finalist, has been an integral part of HCC’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) department for nearly 15 years. Throughout his tenure, he has earned a reputation for his collaborative spirit, innovative teaching methods, and dedication to fostering a student-centered learning environment. He consistently integrates the latest scientific discoveries and hands-on experiences into his curriculum, inspiring students to explore, think critically, and engage deeply with the subject matter.
In addition to his role at Harford Community College, Mr. Weeks brings this same passion and expertise to his science classes at Bel Air High School. His dual role as both a high school teacher and college instructor uniquely positions him to provide students with a rich educational experience that bridges secondary and post-secondary learning.
The CETL Adjunct Instructor of the Year award comes with a $1,000 stipend and highlights the importance of adjunct faculty in supporting quality education at HCC. Mr. Weeks was selected from a competitive group of nominees, all of whom demonstrated a commitment to excellence in teaching and student success.
